Care to Share Donates to Salvation Army

-Mountain Community Homes Resident and Staff Donations Assist Local Families in Need-

As part of Fort Drum Mountain Community Homes’ commitment to social sustainability, supporting the military and local community, an ongoing food drive program was born. Care to Share encourages residents and employees to collect non-perishable food items for donation to local food pantries.

“Mountain Community Homes is part of the North Country and we enjoy supporting our local neighbors while serving the Fort Drum Families. The Care to Share program helps bridge the gap between military and civilian communities and allows us ALL to work together for a good cause,” said Joseph E. McLaughlin, Mountain Community Homes project director.

Recently, representatives from Mountain Community Homes gathered all donations from each community center and delivered the food to the Watertown Salvation Army Corps for distribution to local families in need.

Fort Drum is a great benefactor of our local Salvation Army. We are so blessed to have such a generous and supportive community help us Care to Share Donationaide those in need. Mountain Community Homes’ employees’ and residents’ substantial contribution to our food pantry is an encouragement to us and to those who will ultimately receive the items donated,” concluded Captain Evelyn Hopping, Watertown Salvation Army commander.
